Texans Announce Signing Of QB Case Keenum And Four Others

Headlined by veteran quarterback Case Keenum, the Houston Texans have announced the signing of their first wave of free agents on Friday.

HOUSTON — The Houston Texans announced the signing of five free agents to cap off their first week of NFL free agency Friday afternoon.

The Texans announced the signings of tight end Andrew Beck, running back Mike Boone, wide receiver Noah Brown, quarterback Case Keenum and defensive end Chase Winovich.

Keenum headlines the first wave of players the Texans were able to sign on the open market. He re-joined Houston on a two-year deal to serve as the Texans' veteran within the quarterback room

The 10-year veteran under center has thrown for 14,884 yards in 78 career games, to go along with 78 touchdowns and 48 interceptions. Keenum played for the Texans as an undrafted prospect from 2012 to 2013 out of the University of Houston.

The acquisition of Brown could enhance Houston's subpar wide receiver corps in 2023. He is joining the Texans after five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

Brown has helped the Cowboys finish the 2022 campaign with a 12-5 record. He recorded 555 yards on 43 catches and three touchdowns, which marked a career year in Dallas.

Houston's wide receiving corps currently consists of Brown, Brandin Cooks, Nick Collins, John Metchie III, Amari Rodgers and Robert Woods. The Texans landed Woods as their first wide receiver target on the open market.
