Could Texans Be A Free Agency Fit For Bengals Receiver Tee Higgins?

The Houston Texans are looking to make a splash this offseason. Could Bengals free agent receiver Tee Higgins be the answer?
In this story:

The Houston Texans are going to have plenty of flexibility to make upgrades this offseason.

Whether it be through the NFL Draft or free agency, the Texans are in prime position to make a big splash in the coming months.

One way they could do that is by giving star rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud more weapons. As it just so happens, there should be plenty of options to choose from in free agents - including that of Cincinnati Bengals receiver, Tee Higgins.

And The 33rd Team believes that Higgins could be a great fit in Bobby Slowik's offense.

"No offense became more appealing to potential free agents over the course of the 2023 season than the Houston Texans’," said The 33rd Team. "Rookie C.J. Stroud's development made Houston a destination to watch for pass catchers looking for a new home."

"Adding Higgins could open up more in the passing game. It also would add spacing to run the ball when needed, as the next evolution of the offense. Higgins already fits where Stroud thrived throwing as a rookie. Stroud was third in EPA per play (1.05) on throws of 11 or more air yards outside the numbers."

Last season with the Bengals, Higgins played in just 12 games due to injury, but still managed to pull in 42 catches on 76 targets for 656 yards and five touchdowns.

Texans 'Team to Watch' For Giants Star Saquon Barkley?

In fact, he was second on the team to only star Ja'marr Chase in terms of both touchdowns and receiving yards per game.

On the open market, Higgins likely won't come cheap. That said, Houston will have ample amounts of cap spack to make the move happen.

And alongside Tank Dell, Nico Collins, Brevin Jordan and perhaps Dalton Schultz, and catching passes from Stroud, Higgins could be exactly what the offense needs to get over the top.
