Texans OT Laremy Tunsil Lands at No. 35 in PFF Top 101 Players List

Houston Texans offensive tackle had a remarkable year in 2022, and looks to do the same in 2023

The Houston Texans may have had one of the worst overall records in 2022, but they also had one of the best players -- at least according to Pro Football Focus.

Laremy Tunsil, an offensive tackle for the Texans, lands at No. 35 on the PFF 101 list.

"There may have been no better pass-blocking left tackle this season than Tunsil," Said PFF. "He finished with a 91.7 PFF pass-blocking grade from 17 games, featuring 17 total pressures -- only one of which was a sack."

Tunsil played college football at Ole Miss from 2013-2015 and was selected by the Miami Dolphins with the 13th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, spending two seasons with the team.

He joined the Texans as part of a 2019 trade package along with Kenny Stills and a fourth-round pick in exchange for two first-round picks, a second-round pick, Johnson Bademosi and Julien Davenport.

Tunsil signed a three-year extension with Houston on April 24, 2020, and has been with the Texans since the 2019 trade.

An injury in 2021 allowed him to only appear in (and start) five games that season prior to his breakthrough performance in 2022.

Career highlights for Tunsil include being a three-time Pro Bowl recipient (2019, 2020, 2022) and a member of the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2016. He was also a two-time First Team All-SEC selection in 2014 and 2015.
