HOUSTON, TX -- The Houston Texans have been a busy team on Wednesday.

Per a release from the team, the Texans made a flurry of mid-week roster moves ahead of their Sunday matchup with the Denver Broncos. Most notably, moving starting offensive lineman Tytus Howard to injured reserve after the season-ending knee injury he suffered vs. the Jaguars.

However, there were also plenty of other key moves made by Houston.

The Texans started the day by waiving veteran cornerback Shaq Griffin, who had played 10 games for the Texans, starting six of those games, and making 33 tackles, with one interception and four passes defended.

Houston also signed kicker Matt Ammendola to the practice squad after releasing him on Monday to make room for edge rusher Derek Barnett. Ammendola is likely to be promoted to the active roster to kick on Sunday.

The Texans also promoted linebacker Denzel Perryman - who has been out since Nov. 12 against the Bengals - to the active roster and promoted veteran corner Desmond King II, in a move to replace Griffin.

Before being injured, Perryman was the Texans' top linebacker and has 41 tackles, four tackles for loss, and .5 sacks this season.

Rounding out the moves for Houston on Wednesday, was the release of running back Gerrid Doaks, as well as the signing of linebacker Garrett Wallow to the practice squad.

Doaks was released from the practice squad in order to help make room for the corresponding moves. The elevation of King also helped clear that path.
