Texans 2024 NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Who Could Houston Pick?
One way or another, the 2023 NFL Draft class will be a franchise-altering one for the Houston Texans, who landed quarterback C.J. Stroud and EDGE Will Anderson with the No. 2 and No. 3 overall picks, respectively.
To move back up to No. 3, Nick Caserio, DeMeco Ryans and the Texans had to trade their 2024 first-round pick, among other selections, to the Arizona Cardinals. However, they do still own the Cleveland Browns' first-round pick as part of the Deshaun Watson trade.
Here's an early look at what the Texans could do with their first-round pick in 2024.
Dane Brugler of The Athletic: Joe Alt, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame
Alt is 6-foot-7, 280 pounds and was a First-Team All-American in his sophomore season at Notre Dame. He could replace right tackle Tytus Howard, who is playing on the fifth-year option in 2023 and can become a free agent next offseason.
Matt Holder of Bleacher Report: Kingsley Suamataia, Offensive Tackle, BYU
B/R has the Texans pick -- which, again, is tied to how well the Browns play in 2023 -- at No. 19. They also have Houston going with a successor for Howard. Suamataia is 6-foot-6, 280 pounds and unlike Alt, he is playing right tackle at the collegiate level.
Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports: Michael Hall Jr., Defensive Tackle, Ohio State
With the 20th pick in CBS' mock, Wilson has the Texans selecting Hall, who came on strong with 7.5 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks in his second season at Ohio State.
The Draft Network Staff: Denzel Burke, Cornerback, Ohio State
Another Buckeye, Burke has 17 passes defended, 69 total tackles, and one interception in two collegiate seasons. The 6-foot-1 cornerback would give the Texans a long-term duo at corner with Derek Stingley Jr.
