Texans Rise in NFL Power Rankings Following Week 17 Win vs. Titans
The Houston Texans have their eyes on a playoff berth at season's end, but their standing in the league pecking order improved after a 26-3 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
According to the new list from ESPN, the Texans rose from No. 13 on the list to No. 11 after C.J. Stroud's return from injury this week. This updated list features analysis on an important offseason contract to watch as well, highlighting Houston defensive end Jonathan Greenard. You can view the entire list here.
The Texans saw a return from quarterback C.J. Stroud this week that highly impacted their performance against the Titans. Stroud went 24-for-32 through the air on Sunday for 213 yards and a touchdown in the win, helping improve Houston's playoff odds as a result.
Houston is currently on the outside of the AFC playoff picture at No. 8 in the conference, directly behind the Indianapolis Colts who would make the postseason field if the season ended today. Fortunately for the Texans, they have a head-to-head matchup with Indy this week, and they currently hold a 46 percent chance to reach the playoffs, according to NFL.com.
