HOUSTON — Houston Texans' rookie offensive lineman Kenyon Green underwent arthroscopic knee surgery, according to reports. Green underwent the procedure on Thursday but is expected to make a full recovery by the start of offseason workout programs.

The soon-to-be second-year offensive guard expressed his excitement for the hiring of Texans' coach DeMeco Ryans on Feb. 8. Green made his statement after he took the honorary first shot during the Houston Rockets home game against the Sacramento Kings.

"I am very excited," Green said. "I was at the press conference, and I can see that he will bring a lot of energy. I feel like this is going to be a great year for us."

A concussion sustained during the second week of training camp made it hard for Green to get adjusted to the NFL, which resulted in a rough rookie campaign.

After missing nearly the entire camp, Green played 15 games for the 3-13-1 Texans.

In 832 snaps, Green finished the 2022 season with an overall grade of 37.7. He allowed 47 pressures and four sacks while receiving 12 penalties, according to Pro Football Focus.

The offseason procedure marked the second time in Green's career he had surgery on his knee since the Texans drafted him in the first round (No. 15 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He had a clean-up on his knee last offseason to mend a meniscus.
