HOUSTON — The Houston Texans, and other teams hoping to get a glimpse of Bryce Young at the NFL Scouting Combine, will have to wait until his Alabama Pro Day to catch the quarterback prospect in action.

Young will not showcase his passing talents during the combine at Lucas Oil Stadium, as first reported by NFL Network. All other quarterback prospects, like C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson, will participate in all events.

Although Young will not throw at the combine, it will not hurt his chances of being a top-five prospect taken during the 2023 NFL Draft in April.

Young has established himself as the top-rated quarterback due to his arm strength. The former Heisman winner finished his college career at Alabama throwing for 8,356 yards while completing 65.8 percent of his passes, to go along with 80 touchdowns and a dozen interceptions.

Young's decision will not alter the Texans' plan of targeting a quarterback with the No. 2 pick, given that coach DeMeco Ryans has already expressed the significance of having a quality starter under center.

"We all play together," Ryans said. "That's the awesome part about football is it's not on one guy's shoulders to go out there and win the game for us. It's all about building around each other and playing together. That's how we'll win games."
