HOUSTON — The Houston Texans' steel blue uniforms have been synonymous with the franchise since its conception in 2002. However, the 2024 offseason will reveal new uniforms for the Texans.

According to Texans TV Host Drew Dougherty, the franchise plans to display their new uniforms the week of the 2024 NFL Draft in April. Their new jerseys will commemorate H-Town Blue in each of the four uniforms, paying homage to the Houston Oilers.

The H-Town Blue has been linked to Houston since the Oilers became an NFL franchise in 1960 and spent over three decades as the city's original team. The Oilers relocated to Tennessee in 1997. And despite re-branding to the Titans, the franchise still owned the name and team branding of the Oilers.

The Titans wore their Oilers uniforms twice this season, which included against the Texans on Dec. 17. Fortunately for Houston, the Texans notched a Week 15 overtime victory at Nissan Stadium.

"Those are some sweet colors," Devin Singletary said. "For us, it was just come out and get a win. We're going to see those guys again in two weeks. That's what it was."

The colors and jerseys associated with the Texans will be a new look for the franchise. But according to Dougherty, the team's logo will not change. The Texans' 45-14 Wild Card victory over the Cleveland Browns could have been the final time they wore their steel blue uniforms.

Singletary finished the game rushing for 66 yards on 13 carries. C.J. Stroud threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns while becoming the youngest starting quarterback in league history to win a playoff game.
