The Houston Texans revealed Stefon Diggs will wear No. 1 following his trade to the organization after four years with the Buffalo Bills, the team revealed. Diggs also wore the No. 1 during his college days with the Maryland Terrapins.

According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, Diggs paid roughly six figures to obtain the number from safety Jimmie Ward.

"Sometimes when there's a jersey number change in NFL, it comes at a price," Wilson said on X. "New #Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs obtained the No. 1 jersey from veteran safety Jimmie Ward, for roughly $100,000, per league sources @KPRC2 And Ward is back to No. 20, his old #49ers number @KPRC2"

Diggs joins an emerging Super Bowl contender in Houston. The Texans took the NFL by storm as C.J. Stroud put together a highly impressive rookie campaign. Upon closing a chapter in Buffalo, Diggs took to Instagram to express gratitude.

"I can't begin to express the amount of love and respect I have for the city of Buffalo ♥️💙," Diggs wrote on Instagram. "Four of the best years of my life, the city welcomed me with open arms. I'm forever grateful for you all and the @buffalobills organization! Something special was built over these years with some very special men, that will always have a place in my heart. Billsmafia, so many great memories created throughout the years. Those games were crazy because of you. Sadly good things come to an end until we meet again."

Diggs caught 107 passes for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns last season. During his time in Buffalo, he totaled 445 catches for 5,372 yards and 37 touchdowns. In the five seasons prior with the Vikings, he had 365 catches for 4,623 yards and 30 touchdowns.
