Stefon Diggs Passes Physical, Officially Joins Houston Texans
The Houston Texans officially welcomed Stefon Diggs to their roster on Thursday after he passed his physical, marking another significant move for the team this offseason.
Alongside acquisitions like running back Joe Mixon and edge rusher Danielle Hunter, the Texans have made NFL history by assembling a roster that includes a 1,000-yard receiver, a 1,000-yard running back, and a double-digit sack edge rusher, all in the same offseason.
Diggs, acquired via trade on Wednesday, amassed 107 catches for the Bills last season. Mixon, acquired in a trade last month, racked up 1,034 rushing yards in 2023. Hunter, who signed as a free agent last month, notched 16.5 sacks last season.
With six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, Diggs brings a wealth of experience and Pro Bowl-caliber performance from his tenure with the Bills. He joins an already impressive receiving corps featuring Nico Collins, Tank Dell, and Noah Brown, with the Texans re-signing tight end Dalton Schultz this offseason.
While previously considered a rebuilding team before the 2023 season, those perceptions have dramatically shifted, with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud guiding them to the playoffs last year.
Now operating as a win-now squad, the Texans have now made a rapid series of moves and made significant investments in their quest for a Super Bowl, taking advantage of Stroud's economical rookie contract along the way.
Houston's pursuit of Diggs came after their unsuccessful attempt to acquire Keenan Allen, with the Texans offering comparable compensation to the Bears for Allen as Buffalo accepted for Diggs.
