'Top Tier!' J.J. Watt Reacts to Houston Texans Trade for Stefon Diggs
HOUSTON - The Houston Texans made perhaps the biggest splash of the offseason on Wednesday Morning, making a blockbuster trade for Buffalo Bills star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
The Texans will also be receiving a 2025 fifth round and 2025 sixth round pick in the deal, while sending a 2025 second rounder back to Buffalo in exchange for Diggs.
The deal not only gives the Texans one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL on paper, but caps off an extremely aggressive offseason on both sides of the ball, that has seen the franchise transform directly into a Super Bowl contender.
Suffice it to say, Texans legend J.J. Watt is a big fan everything they have done to this point.
"The last two off-seasons for the Texans have completely transformed the franchise," Watt said on X. "DeMeco Ryans, CJ Stroud, Will Anderson, Danielle Hunter, Stefon Diggs, etc. Houston is a top-tier destination."
Just on offense alone, the Texans have surrounded young star QB C.J. Stroud with a litany of talent, re-signing tight end Dalton Schultz and depth receiver Noah Brown, and trading for stud running back Joe Mixon to revitalize the running game - all to add to the Texans already explosive core of receivers Nico Collins, Tank Dell and John Metchie, and running back Dameon Pierce.
Not to mention, when healthy, the Texans have the makings of an elite offensive line as well with Laremy Tunsil as the anchor at left tackle.
However, as Watt points out, that transformation has also been occurring on the defensive side of the ball as well, with the Texans signing star Vikings free agent Danielle Hunter to play opposite of reigning defensive rookie of the year Will Anderson Jr.
Houston also added ample help at the corners with former first-round picks Jeff Okudah and C.J. Henderson, and two more key playmakers to the front seven in former Titans linebacker Azeez Al-Shair and defensive lineman Denico Autry.
In other words, the defending AFC South champions just took a major step forward in challenging the Kansas City Chiefs for Super Bowl supremacy.
And Watt could not be more excited.
