HOUSTON — The Houston Texans are in the middle of putting together their 53-man roster, but that did not prevent general manager Nick Caserio from making a trade.

Tuesday afternoon, the Texans landed offensive lineman Kendrick Green from the Pittsburgh Steelers, per NFL Network. In return, the Texans sent a 2025 sixth-round pick.

The decision to trade for Green came a day after coach DeMeco Ryans announced that Kenyon Green is dealing with "multiple things."

As first reported by KPRC, Kenyon sustained an arm injury in Sunday's preseason victory against the New Orleans Saints. The Texans A&M prospect could begin the season on injured reserve. KPRC also added that rookie center Juice Scruggs is dealing with a minor hamstring injury.

"He’s been dealing with some things," Ryans said. "He’s battled through a lot, and it’s been tough on him, but I’m proud of Kenyon and what he’s battled through that everyone may not know. Tough kid [who’s] going through a lot, but he’s tried to go every single day and he pushed it for us, and I’m proud of his effort and what he put out there for us."

In addition to Kenyon, the Texans' offensive line has been hampered by injuries. The Texans lost center Scott Quessenberry for the season after going down with a significant knee injury. Right tackle Tytus Howard's status for Week 1 remains in question due to a hand injury.

Kendrick started 15 games at center for the Steelers in 2021. He moved to guard in 2022 but was never a member of the active roster.
