'He Helps Me!': Texans' Anderson Praises DL Jonathan Greenard
There are certainly high expectations entering the season for rookie outside linebacker Will Anderson Jr.
Not only did the Houston Texans take him with the third overall pick, they traded a haul to move back up in the draft to do so.
The talent is there for Anderson to be a superstar in the NFL, and the faith is undoubtedly there on the Texans' part.
For now, though, he is going through his first training camp and has had plenty of praise for veteran Jonathan Greenard for helping him adjust to the next level.
“He’s helped me a lot, just mentally and everything like that,” Anderson said. “Getting through everything — he’s a smart guy as well. You know, him and Jerry favor each other a lot. You know, they just want to help me build my confidence up and everything like that."
Entering his fourth season in the league, Greenard provides Anderson another key veteran voice to listen to.
While he may very well become one of the premier defenders in the NFL, there will still likely be rookie growing pains - which Greenard will be there to help with along the way.
“Whatever I need, he’s always there for me, teaching me stuff, showing me what move to do on this guy, how to do this move and everything like that. So, it’s been very fun to be a part of this with him.”
