Houston Texans Fall to Jacksonville Jaguars, Three-Game Winning Streak Ends
HOUSTON — The Houston Texans host the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday afternoon at NRG Stadium. The Week 12 contest will play a significant role in playoff implications, with the AFC South division lead on the line.
The Jaguars lead the division with a 7-3 record, while the Texans are one game behind at 6-4. Houston is one of the hottest teams in the league after winning three consecutive games, its longest winning streak since 2019.
“For us, It’s the next game for us," coach DeMeco Ryans said. "It means our guys have done a really good job and they’ve put the work in. They’ve put the work in to earn the right to be in this position. I’m proud of our guys for putting themselves in this position and now just have to go out and play clean football. Play our style of football on Sunday and be the best team within those three and a half hours.”
The Texans have won 10 of the last 11 match-ups against Jacksonville. Their most recent meeting led to a 37-17 win for the Texans. The game marked the start of an impressive rookie season for quarterback C.J. Stroud, who has thrown for 2,962 yards and 17 touchdowns.
