Texans vs. Titans Week 17: How to Watch, Betting Odds
Houston and Tennessee get together at NRG Stadium on Sunday as both teams see the return of their rookie quarterbacks.
C.J. Stroud, the No. 2 overall pick of the Texans indicated that Stroud would return vs. Tennessee after missing two games with a concussion. Will Levis, the second-round pick of the Titans will return to the field after missing last week with an ankle injury.
Stroud indicated he's feeling fine after his time off.
“Hopefully when I come back, I can do what I’ve been doing, that’s the plan and I hope that comes true and I’m excited for these next couple of games and this opportunity,” he said.
Houston is still in play for the AFC South crown and a Wild Card spot but needs a win to keep those chances high. Stroud's presence should help, with 3,631 yards passing and 20 touchdowns to just five interceptions on the season.
“We’ve got to appreciate the work that we put in, but at the same time, just get one at a time,” Stroud said. “I want to keep building for hopefully making the playoffs and that’s definitely the goal and just go from there.”
The Titans have been out of the playoff picture for quite some time, but now look to play the role of spoiler for their division rival.
“We talk about different ways to motivate us, and that’s definitely one,” Levis said. “I just want to win games, and I’m not as much excited about knocking them out as I am just winning a football game and that’s definitely a little bit of extra motivation. But we’re going out there to put our best ball on tape and to come back with a win.”
