Texans vs. 49ers: Trey Lance Time In San Francisco, How To Watch
The Houston Texans will host the San Francisco 49ers in the last preseason game for each team on Thursday night.
Texans' coach Lovie Smith will end his first NFL preseason back on the sideline and is tasked with evaluating all the roster hopefuls looking to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.
The Texans are signing Matt Amendola in the wake of Ka'imi Fairbairn’s injury. So special teams evaluation might be on hold with regulars missing time.
The 49ers are expected to play starters, including young quarterback Trey Lance - who has the mobility to test the Texans defensive front.
The Houston offense has not looked to be in regular-season form during the first two preseason games but looks to get back on track before the games that count begin.
But, in back-to-back weeks, the Texans' pass rush has looked good, with 16 total pressures and 11 sacks. But what can it do against San Francisco's starters? We'll find out Thursday.
