'I Really Don't Care!' Texans Legend J.J. Watt Embracing Viral Haircut Despite Detractors

J.J. Watt was a lightning rod for criticism because of his new haircut during Super Bowl LVIII coverage. Watt, however, is embracing it.
In this story:

Super Bowl LVIII has come and gone with the Kansas City Chiefs taking home another Lombardi Trophy, in what was yet another pulse-pounding edition of the game.

However, one of the more unexpected storylines to come out of Las Vegas involved Houston Texans legend J.J. Watt, who took part in CBS' Super Bowl television coverage.

And while Watt's performance on the show was as good as ever, there was something else that took the attention of the viewers - his spiky new haircut.

But despite being panned on social media for his new hairdo, Watt is embracing it, as he said on a recent appearance on the Pat MacAfee Show.

"All of them are fair. I like it, so I really don't care," Watt said. "There's some Guy Fieri there, there's certainly some Sugar Ray, there's definitely a little 90s boy band action. There are no frosted tips, I don't think I took it to that extreme. But I absolutely loved the memes and the jokes. They were hilarious."

Fieri, a star on the Food Network known in part for his outrageous hairstyle, even got in on the gag himself, telling Watt on X that he thought it was a 'good look'.

All that said, instead of changing things up as a result of the criticisms and jokes, Watt doubled down on a recent - and extremely self-aware - Instagram post.

“Ratings spiked to their highest peaks in history,” Watt said. “Honored to be a small part of a crew that gels together so well.”

In other words, by the looks of things, it does not appear that Watt is going to make a change anytime soon.
