Injured Houston Texans Struggling at Halftime vs. Tennessee Titans
The Houston Texans are without starting quarterback C.J. Stroud against the Tennessee Titans in Week 15. His absence, and those of several Houston stars, have proven to be incredibly important to Sunday’s contest.
At halftime, Houston trails Tennessee 13-3.
The Texans offense has struggled to get anything going. After a three-and-out to start the game, Titans quarterback Will Levis finished a double-digit-play drive with a one-yard score.
Tennessee would score again later in the half, largely thanks to the Texans’ offensive ineptitude. Veteran quarterback Case Keenum, starting in Stroud’s place, threw a pick-six to defensive back Elijah Molden. That gave Tennessee a 13-0 lead.
Houston running back Devin Singletary has played his part while the offense deals with injuries along the offensive line and receiver, with tackles George Fant and Laremy Tunsil, along with receiver Nico Collins, out of action.
However, the offense wouldn’t come close to scoring until the final seconds of the first half. The Texans retained the ball for the final five minutes of the half, slowly working their way down the field. Ultimately, they weren’t able to find the end zone.

Kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn, in his first game back, made a 23-yard field goal to get Houston on the board.
Don’t expect backup Davis Mills to make an appearance just yet, as this one remains close. The defense has done its part without edge rusher Will Anderson, providing optimism as Houston tries to steal a divisional game with its cast of reinforcements.
