J.J. Watt Believes Texans' Super Bowl Window is 'Very Real'
The 2023 season was one of the best for the Houston Texans. They reached the postseason for the first time since 2019. And after defeating the Cleveland Browns, the Texans reached the Divisional Round.
A blowout loss to the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens proved that the Texans have a lot to improve upon heading into next season. The top priority for general manager Nick Caserio and coach DeMeco Ryans will be to add pieces in free agency and the draft that will put the Texans in championship contention.
In a recent interview with the Houston Chronicle, Texans legend J.J. Watt revealed that he believes the Texans championship title window is real.
“Players are going to want to play for DeMeco Ryans," Watt said. "Players are going to want to play with a C.J. Stroud-led team,” Watt said. “And they see what’s being built down there and we all know in the NFL, if you have a phenomenal quarterback on a rookie deal, that sets you up for success.”
"I think they do have to approach this as this is a very real and legitimate window. Let’s go and grab a hold of it."
The Texans finished last season with 11 total wins. But nearly every game came down to the wire for Houston. But as they enter the 2024 postseason, the Texans have proven to be a battle-tested team. It's one of the most significant attributes a team will need en route to a championship window opening up.
