Odell Beckham Jr. Injury: Is Ravens WR OUT vs. Texans Week 1?
New Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has said a great deal about his plan to "explode'' back onto the NFL scene after having missed the entirety of the 2022 season due to a knee injury.
But is OBJ - not to mention star tight end Mark Andrews - going to be ready to "explode'' in the Week 1 opener against the Houston Texans?
Beckham has been added to the Ravens injury report with an ankle injury. He was limited in practice on Thursday, which of course still gives him one more day to try and engage in a full practice for the Lamar Jackson-led offense, which is planning to emphasize the aerial game under the direction of new offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
But there are a couple of limps in the Baltimore stride right now because in addition to Beckham Jr., standout tight end Mark Andrews is also on the injury report with a quad problem that has limited him for two straight days.
Additionally for the Ravens, Ronnie Stanley (ankle) is back to full participation and Marlon Humphrey (foot) is still out and is not scheduled to play.
The Ravens have other weapons, of course, because in addition to adding in the veteran Beckham, Rashod Bateman and rookie Zay Flowers are among the scary pass-catchers and JK Dobbins has star quality at running back.
Beckham, who will be playing in his ninth career season, last played when he helped the Rams win the Super Bowl after the 2021 season - but he tore his ACL in that game. A rehabbed Beckham now begins the year with 7,367 career receiving yards, 57 career touchdowns ... and a question mark for his debut against the Texans.
