Titans QB Will Levis OUT For Remainder Of Game vs. Texans

The Houston Texans are minutes away from a win against the Tennessee Titans.

It's the Ryan Tannehill show against the Houston Texans for the rest of the way.

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis is out for the remainder of Week 17's matchup at NRG Stadium after suffering a foot injury in the second quarter. The Texans are currently leading 23-3 entering the fourth quarter.

Levis was injured when he was stripped-sacked by Texans defensive end Jerry Hughes, which was returned for a 13-yard touchdown by defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins to extend Houston's lead by 17. Tannehill filled in and led Tennessee's only scoring drive, a 53-yard field goal from Nick Folk just before halftime.

Levis missed last week's 17-10 loss against the Seattle Seahawks after suffering an ankle injury in the 19-16 overtime loss to Houston at Nissan Stadium. Tannehill took over and kept things close before a late touchdown by Geno Smith sealed the win.

Houston's defensive front has terrorized both passers and made the offense one-dimensional. In his first start since Week 13, rookie Will Anderson picked up his sixth and seventh sack on Tannehill just before halftime.

Derrick Henry, known for his dominance in Houston, is currently only averaging 3.9 yards per run on 10 carries. Tennessee's also a woeful 1-for-10 on third-down conversion.

Prior to leaving, Levis was 2-for-6 passing for 16 yards. The second-round pick started eight games before Sunday's matchup and threw for 1,792 yards and eight touchdowns against four interceptions.

Should the Texans (8-7) notch the victory, they'll secure the first winning season for the franchise since 2019. Houston also will remain atop the AFC South standings entering Week 18.
