Texans BREAKING: Houston Target Jimmy Garoppolo Signing with Raiders

“Jimmy G'' is signing with the Las Vegas Raiders and the Houston Texans go back to the QB drawing board.

HOUSTON - The Houston Texans will turn their attention to other solutions at the QB position with the news that “Jimmy G'' is signing with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Was Houston ever going to truly engage in a way to win a bidding war here? That's not fully known. But the connection with the quarterback was real, as stated by new Houston offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik - who comes over from the San Francisco 49ers, which was quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's last stop.

“We have a process that we go through, Jimmy is obviously a part of that process,” Slowik said.

Reports had the Texans and the Raiders as being the two teams ready to pursue the player, but there were a number of moving parts here. What’s the compensation? Do the Texans want Jimmy G because it frees them from drafting a QB this April at No. 2 or No. 12? Or is Jimmy G the “bridge” while a drafted rookie (Bryce Young? CJ Stroud? Anthony Richardson?) is granted patience while he learns?

Now it's a different story, as the Raiders try to restock after saying goodbye to Derek Carr ... and as the Texans try to rebuild with the next idea at QB to come.
