Texans' Playoff Odds Hinge Largely on Week 16 Outcome vs. Browns
The Houston Texans (like many teams in the NFL) have a pivotal game on Sunday when they take on the Cleveland Browns at NRG Stadium, and the winner of that game will have a definite leg up in the race for an AFC Wild Card spot.
According to odds provided by The New York Times, Houston currently has a 48 percent chance to reach the postseason, holding an 8-6 record entering Week 16. That's not horrible, but a win over the Browns would improve those odds to a whopping 71 percent. A loss? Then you're staring at just a 31.1 percent chance to reach the postseason.
Needless to say, a lot rides on Sunday's game in Houston.
It's also not a great time for the Texans to be hampered by injuries, but that's where they find themselves this week.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud, per reports, is unlikely to suit up against the Browns on Sunday due to being in concussion protocol, so the reins of the offense will likely be handed over once again to Case Keenum who had a solid game last week against the Tennessee Titans.
Can Injured Texans Offense Overcome Browns Elite Defense?
Kickoff on Sunday between the Texans and Browns is set for 12 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on CBS.
