Titans Pro Bowler Jeffery Simmons Among NFL Stars Competing This Weekend in Sport Fishing Championship

NASHVILLE — Jeffery Simmons, a defensive lineman for the Tennessee Titans, is set to tackle saltwater fishing in an upcoming competition this weekend.

An event called "The Catch" will feature 14 NFL players partnering with the Sport Fishing Championship's top anglers in a made-for-TV special. The contest will be broadcast live from 2 to 4 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 20, on CBS Sports Network. Simmons will participate in saltwater fishing.

“We’re bringing together elite SFC athletes and pairing them with NFL superstars and, to no surprise, everyone is out to win,” Mark Neifeld, CEO and Commissioner of Sport Fishing Championship, said via press release. “NFL players have proven to be quick studies to our sport, so I can’t wait to see which teams rise to the top!”

Based on his most recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Simmons appears to have started preparing for the contest a couple of weeks ago.
