Point Spread: Despite Perfect Home Record, Titans Underdogs vs. Colts on Sunday
NASHVILLE — In this weird Tennessee Titans football season, several things have been obvious. They're really good in Nashville, where they are a perfect 4-0, but they've struggled away from the Music City, losing all seven games.
That's why it's surprising that the Indianapolis Colts are actually a 1.5-point favorite in Sunday's AFC South showdown at Nissan Stadium, according to the SISportsbook.com gambling website. The over/under is 41.5. I didn't see that coming.
The Titans have in this position before, of course. In three of their four home games — the win over Carolina last week was the outlier — the Titans have been underdogs at Nissan. They were 2.5-point dogs against the Los Angeles Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons, but beat they them all outright anyway.
The Colts are 6-5 right now, and still in the AFC playoff hunt. The Titans are on the outside looking in, but are hoping another home win can change that. They still have home games with Seattle, Houston and Jacksonville, and are still hoping to make some noise. The Titans, to a man, still feel like they have a lot to play for.
Here's what the Titans have done against the spread so far this season:

The Colts won the first meeting on Oct. 8 in Indianapolis, taking advantage of the Titans' red-zone issues and inability to stop the run in a 23-16 win. Zach Moss rushed for a season-high 165 yards that day.
It was the first — and only — time the Titans had been favored in a game until they beat the 1-10 Panthers are week ago. They lost anyway, which might have something to do with the Colts being favored again. Maybe they see another big game on the ground from Indianapolis.
