Point Spread: Titans Favored Over Texans For Just 3rd Time All Year

The Tennessee Titans haven't been favored to win very often this year, but they are on Sunday when they host the Houston Texans at Nissan Stadium. It's just the third time all year that it's happened. Here's the latest on the point spread, and good information on what both teams have done vs. the spread all year.

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans are finally getting around the seeing AFC South rival Houston on Sunday in Week 15, and it's a rare occasion. The Titans are actually favored to win, for just the third time all year.

Tennessee (5-8) is a 3.5-point favorite over the Texans (7-6) according to the SISportsbook.com gambling website. The over/under is 36.5. It's the first of two meetings in three weeks between the two teams. They play again at Houston on Dec. 31.

It's sort of rare for the Titans to be favored to win a game. It's only happened twice so far — at Indianapolis in Week 5 and at home against Carolina in Week 12 — but the Titans have won four times as underdogs, including last Monday night when they won in Miami as a 13.5-point underdog. It was the largest NFL upset all season. 

The game starts at Noon CT, and the Titans will be wearing their throwback Houston Oilers jerseys. The Texans will be without standout rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who's out with a concussion.
