If Stroud Falls, The Titans Should Have All The Answers

What once was considered a lock now seems less inevitable as the 2023 NFL Draft draws closer if you believe the rumors.

NASHVILLE - As rumors continue to arise, the only constant among them regarding the Tennessee Titans is that they all center around quarterbacks.

On Tuesday, it was about Aaron Rodgers. Wednesday, a new one about Trey Lance reappeared, and finally, one predicting Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud possibly falling is gaining traction.

This new rumor holds that the Houston Texans are potentially looking to trade out of the No.2 position, who, along with Arizona at No.3, who is also interested in moving back, could provide some intrigue and possibly chaos in the early moments of round one.

The reason for this sudden urge to move back? Allegedly the Texans are not as high on Stroud or the other two quarterbacks who would still be on the board at No.2 as many others in this draft.

If true, teams like the Colts, Falcons, and Titans are all ones who could potentially be interested in moving into that No.2 or No.3 position to get one of those three remaining quarterbacks.

Of course, in the case of the Titans, that would mean that they failed to trade for either Rodgers or Lance before the beginning of round one.

Regardless of the cost, I still feel any move up to No.2 or 3 is too much for a team with as many needs as the Titans. Yes, getting a future quarterback is needed, and the Titans might not be this close to the top again for some time, so I can understand the desire to go for it here.

One thing should be considered when discussing a potential move up. That's Mike Vrabel's connection to Ryan Day and Ohio State.

It seems a forgone conclusion that Vrabel has all the information he and the Titans might need to know about Stroud to decide if he is the guy to lead them into the coming season.

We might not like it, but if the Texans bail at No.2 and the Titans make a move, it will be because they have all the information and feel this is best for this franchise now and in the coming season.
