Titans' Carthon, Callahan attend Alabama Pro Day — a Treasure Trove of Potential NFL Draft Picks
NASHVILLE — Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon and first-year coach Brian Callahan on Wednesday attended Alabama's Pro Day, where seemingly every athlete on display could be slotted into a position of need for the Titans.
According to Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy, Carthon was one of five GMs in attendance, Callahan was one of four head coaches.
The Titans need more depth, if not immediate help, at several positions, including the offensive line. While their most pressing concern is left tackle, there's a chance the Titans could draft right tackle JC Latham with the No. 7 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft if Notre Dame's Joe Alt or Penn State's Olu Fashanu are unavailable. Or if the Titans trade back in the draft to take Latham and acquire more picks.
It's hard to imagine that Edge defender Dallas Turner, the 15th-ranked draft prospect according to Pro Football Focus (PFF), will be on the board when the Titans pick at No. 38, but his college teammate Chris Braswell (PFF No. 38) could be.
Despite signing former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chidobe Awuzie in free agency, the Titans still need help in the secondary. While Terrion Arnold (PFF No. 14) isn't projected to be available when the Titans pick on Day 2, Kool-Aid McKinstry (PFF No. 21) is a possibility.
Another interesting player is wide receiver Jermain Burton (PFF No. 52). The Titans spent $92 million in free agency on Calvin Ridley, incidentally a Bama alum, but they need more. Burton is a legit deep threat with reliable hands. If he's available in the fourth round, Burton could be a steal.
