Titans At No.11 Look To Have Multiple Options

Of course, having the No.1 overall selection in the NFL Draft is the optimum spot, but for the Tennessee Titans, sitting at No.11 is shaping up to provide several options for a team that needs a lot of help.

NASHVILLE - Thanks to some bad trades, ugly contracts, and draft misses by the previous general manager, the Tennessee Titans are not in the most advantageous situation. However, for new general manager Ran Carton, holding the No.11 overall selection in the upcoming April NFL Draft isn't all that bad.

Yes, the Titans could use a quarterback, but at No.11, the chances of one of the top players falling to them seem slim. While noting is impossible, and drafts can often yield surprises, a quarterback falling isn't likely one that seems possible this year.

At the same time, those four quarterbacks and the likelihood that they are all taken in the top ten selections appear to be good for the Titans.

Let's assume for a moment that this draft falls the way most are predicting, and all four quarterbacks, CJ Stroud, Bryce Young, Will Levis, and Anthony Richardson, go off the board, in no particular order within the top ten picks.

It is then likely that Willl Anderson will also go in the top ten (most likely top five), and Jalen Carter, his recent legal issues both withstanding, also joins him. That's six selections gone, leaving just four others before the Titans selection at No.11.

There are no guarantees about which four might be taken before the Titans get their shot. Still, it's becoming more and more believable that Tennessee could have their pick from the best offensive tackle, top two wide receivers, the second-best pass rusher, and the first tight end off the board.

Call me crazy, but if I'm a general manager, and a quarterback is out of the question, I wouldn't be too upset if I had these options available to add to my roster.

Now, none of this is an earth-shattering revolution, but it's not always the case at No.11 to have this many potential top players at their respective positions sitting there.

It could be the case this time because of the number of quarterback-needy teams and the availability of four projected first-round talents this year.

Remember back to 2022, when the first quarterback taken was at No.20 when the Steelers tabbed Kenny Pickett. Edge rushers (3), cornerbacks (2), offensive tackles (3), and wide receivers (2) dominated the top ten.

Of course, anything can happen, but if things unfold as they seem to be aligning, the Titans should have a favorable group from which to choose in the first round.

Now if there were just a way to gain more selections without having to trade back from No.11, which is also a possibility.

Regardless, this draft will be one of the most intriguing in recent memory.
