NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans tried to complete a trade to move up the board in the first round and were unable to, but they got the job done at the beginning of the second round. The Titans have completed a move up to pick 33 and selected quarterback Will Levis from Kentucky. The Titans gave up picks 41, 72 and a third rounder in 2024 in exchange for picks 33 and 81.

Levis slid out of the first round after being projected by some to go early in the first round. Levis, the six-foot-four, 229-pound passer, played four years in college and two different schools. He started his collegiate career at Pennsylvania State and played in 14 games completing 61 passes for 644 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Levis transferred to Kentucky after his sophomore season after losing the starting quarterback battle to Sean Clifford.

Levis started two seasons at Kentucky. He had a better season in 2021 when surrounded by a better supporting cast, but still had success as a senior in 2022. Levis threw for 418 completions, 5,232 yards with 43 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. Levis won 17 of the 24 games he played in as a Wildcat.

Levis is a polarizing prospect. He has the prototypical size you want for a quarterback with plus athleticism. Levis has a quick release on his throws and the velocity to throw it all over the field. The downside is Levis has some mechanical issues with his footwork while throwing and it can lead to inaccuracy. If the Titans can clean up the mechanics and speed up the processing time, Levis fits perfectly within the offense and has the potential to be a star. We will see if it was worth the risk.
