The Tennessee Titans have seen enough of another outside linebacker.

Josh Smith, an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt, was waived-injured Wednesday, a day before the preseason finale at Chicago (7 p.m., CDT, Thursday). The Titans signed him fewer than two weeks earlier in one of a series of moves at that position, where depth is an issue particularly since first-time starter Harold Landry has yet to play in the preseason and veteran free agent Cameron Wake sat out the first two contests.

Smith played 17 snaps on defense and one on special teams in the loss to New England on Aug. 17. He did not register a tackle but recorded one hit on the quarterback. He did not play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He first auditioned with Tennessee during the rookie orientation, at which he participated on a tryout basis.

His release likely represents the start of the final roster reduction. NFL teams must cut from 90 to 53 players by 3 p.m. (CDT) Saturday.
