INDIANAPOLIS - Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers views himself as more than a slot receiver. The dynamic wide receiver believes he can play anywhere and have success.

"I'm not just a slot (receiver)," Flowers said. " 75 percent of my snaps were played outside, and I think I can move around and play any position that they put me at."

Flowers has drawn comparisons to former NFL wideouts, such as Antonio Brown and Steve Smith Sr. While Flowers welcomes the comparisons, he also wants to be sure to be his own player at the next level.

"I like it," Flowers said of being compared to Steve Smith Sr. "I watched Steve Smith. I watch his highlights and Antonio Brown highlights. I just take stuff from those guys and try to add it to my own game and try to be my own player."

Even though Flowers is listed at 5'9," he prides himself on being able to help block in the running game.

"I think I'm pretty physical for a receiver," Flowers said. "My coach was pretty hard on blocking. If you wanted the ball, you had to block, so I think I'm a pretty good blocker."

Flowers also attributes his releases to his basketball background.

"Basketball helped me with my releases," Flowers said. "It helped me get open. It helped me stay agile during the time I had football."

When asked more about his route running, Flowers mentioned the training he did that helped his development with those skills and that he's best as 'making plays,'

"I can run any route," said Flowers.

Flowers also talked about his family background and how being number 11 in a group with 13 siblings helped him get where he is today.

"That kept me competitive," Flowers said. "It kept me on my toes, kept me high-spirited. (They're) my biggest fans -- my brothers and sisters -- so I'm living the dream for all of us."
