NASHVILLE -- The Tennessee Titans have officially parted ways with left tackle Taylor Lewan, according to Ari Meirov. Lewan's podcast 'Bussin' With The Boys was first to make the official announcement via Twitter on Wednesday.

A former first-round pick in 2014 out of Michigan, the 31-year-old Lewan made 106 starts, including in the playoffs, throughout his career with the Titans. Lewan was also a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

Lewan struggled to stay healthy during his last few seasons with the Titans. He tore his ACL in 2020 and suffered another knee injury in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills this past season that caused him to miss the rest of the season. In total, Lewan has appeared in only 20 games out of a possible 50 over the last three seasons due to injuries.

Lewan, a highly-respected player, took to Twitter Wednesday to briefly speak on his time with the Titans.

"I hope I did enough to create something Titan fans can be proud of, I love you all," Lewan said via Twitter on Wednesday.

With Lewan's release, the Titans will be saving $14.84 million in cap space and will almost certainly be in the market for a new starter at left tackle, whether they address that in the draft or via free agency.

After spending the past nine years with Tennessee, while Lewan may look for a fresh start elsewhere, he also said that he would consider retirement as well.
