NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans continued training camp on Friday and as we saw on Wednesday, DeAndre Hopkins made a major impact. Hopkins made highlight plays throughout practice starting in one-on-ones and continuing in team period. Hopkins got the day started with a nasty one-handed catch over Kristian Fulton.

Hopkins showcases his best ability here — contested catches. Hopkins is always open because of his ridiculous hand-eye coordination, timing and length. Even with Fulton draped on him, Hopkins finds a way to bring it down with only one hand.

Things continued into seven-on-sevens when Hopkins caught a seam pass from Tannehill in a period where Tannehill was on fire. Based on the first two days of practice we have seen, Hopkins seems to be a favorite target for Tannehill already.

That proved itself big time in the first team period when Tannehill went to Hopkins on the first two plays. Tannehill continued to target Hopkins in the next team period as well, Hopkins making multiple catches on the day in all of the different sessions.

Hopkins also took some time after practice to remind the world of what he is capable of. Clearly, Hopkins feels slighted by the conversation around him and the perverbial decline he is suffering from. He has taken no breaks in responding to folks on line or sending his own messages.

Hopkins has the ability to prove his doubters wrong, but that will only happen if he develops a strong connection with quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Luckily, Tannehill is willing to go back to his college roots when he was a wide receiver at Texas A&M and run some routes.

Tannehill took some time during practice to go to a side field and run routes with his wide receivers. Showing them at exactly what angle, speed and depth he expects the routes to be run. Getting into these sort of details so early will help them not only get on the same page, but be able to practice and adjust those instructions as well.

It has been a great start to camp for Hopkins. Which is exactly what he expects. The Titans are hoping Hopkins continues to have ammo to send back at his doubters because they know it'll come from plays like he is making at practice now.
