High School Reunion: Callahan, Titans Hire Jaguars' Nick Holz as Offensive Coordinator
NASHVILLE — Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan is wasting no time filling out his first coaching staff.
According to multiple reports, the Titans have hired Jacksonville Jaguars assistant Nick Holz as the Titans' offensive coordinator. Callahan will be the primary play-caller and Holz will be accountable for designing the offense and working with quarterback Will Levis — similar to Callahan's time in Cincinnati with Zac Taylor.
Holz has deep ties with the Callahan family. Holz was Brian's teammate at De La Salle High School in California and Holz got his start in coaching in 2007 on Bill Callahan's staff at the University of Nebraska.
The trio will work together in Nashville with Brian as head coach, Holz as offensive coordinator, and Brian's father Bill coaching the Titans' offensive line. Bill Callahan, entering his 45th year of coaching, has long been regarded as one of the NFL's best teachers of offensive line play.
This week, the Titans also hired a defensive coordinator (Dennard Wilson) and a wide receivers coach (Tyke Tolbert).
Holz spent 10 seasons on the Raiders' staff, working alongside Brian Callahan at one point. In 2022, he was offensive coordinator at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas befofre returning to the last season with the Jaguars.
