My Inaugural All-Time All-Titans Team: Offensive Edition

As we close in on the Tennessee Titans 2023 training camp opening, it seems like a good time to put together an all-time Titans team.

NASHVILLE - As the 2023 Tennessee Titans season continues to steamroll its way toward us, this seems like a good time to jump into and put together my inaugural All-Time All-Titans team ahead of the coming campaign.

The criteria for this team is simple; the player must have played for the current incarnation of the franchise as a Titan and in Nashville. In other words, Earl Campbell, who is undoubtedly an all-time franchise great, won't appear here.

So let's jump in and put this off team together.

OFFENSE

Quarterback: Steve McNair- This one's a no-brainer.

Fullback: Lorenzo Neal- "Lo," as his teammates called him, was the man who opened the door for Eddie George and got the call here.

Running Back: Eddie George- With all due respect to both Derrick Henry and Chris Johnson, who each could have been here, Eddie was the man, and of the three, he is the highest on the all-time yardage list.

Wide Receiver: Derrick Mason- D-Mase was the best to play the position for the franchise in Nashville.

Wide Receiver: AJ Brown- He wasn't here long, but he was the second-best- and could have been the best if he hadn't been sent packing.

Tight End: Frank Wycheck- The man at the center of The Music City Miracle was the first and still standard bearer for this position in Nashville. NOTE- Delanie Walker is right there and deserves recognition.

Offensive Tackle: Brad Hopkins- The former All-Pro came here during the move from Houston and edged out Taylor Lewan because of Lewan's injury issues that cost him time.

Offensive Tackle: Michael Roos- Yes, both Roos and Hopkins were left tackles, and the two of the best to play here, though, David "Big Stew" Stewart, could have been here if I went position specific at right tackle, which I am not.

Offensive Guard: Bruce Mathews- One of the greatest ever, period, 'Bruuuce' as the cheer went, was a fan favorite, and could have been at any of the five line positions, but was best at guard where he lands today.

Offensive Guard: Rodger Saffold- joined the Titans as a free agent and found his way onto my list as our starting guard.

CENTER: Ben Jones- joined the Titans as a free agent and became a stalwart for this franchise,  on and off the field, until his release following the 2022 season.

Special Teams

Kicker: Rob Bironas- The late, great Bironas is, to me, the unquestioned man here.

Punter: Brett Kern- With all due respect to Craig Hentrich, Kern's the call.

Summary

There you have it, my All-Time, All-TItans Team offensive edition. Let the discussion begin.
