As the Tennessee Titans enter a rebuild, tough decisions have to be made and we saw one of those play out on Monday when the Titans sent star safety Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for draft picks and veteran safety Terrell Edmunds.

Byard leaves the team as one of the best players in franchise history, earning multiple pro-bowl appearances and first-team All-Pro selections in the process. Byard took to social media on Monday night to say goodbye to the place he called home for seven seasons and six games.

Byard put a major focus on thanking the people who gave him his shot as a Titan in controlling owner Amy Adams-Strunk, former general manager Jon Robinson and both his head coaches, Mike Vrabel and Mike Mularkey.

Byard also took time to thank all of the staff in the Titans organization before turning his attention to his teammates and of course, the fans. Byard has been a beloved Titan among all three groups over the years.

After taking his time to acknowledge the place he is departing, Byard look ahead and gave a shout out to his new fanbase and team. He will be joining the Eagles in the middle of a Super Bowl chase.

The Titans are heading towards a rebuild and may continue to be sellers before the deadline next week. Saying Byard goodbye was tough and there may be more difficult departures in the coming days.
