Oilers Legend Warren Moon Supports Tennessee Titans Wearing Throwbacks
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans finally released their Houston Oilers throwbacks and the beautiful uniforms had the internet ablaze. Oilers legend and Hall-of-Fame quarterback Warren Moon shared the excitement and took to Twitter to support the Titans' organization.
Moon spent 10 seasons with the franchise from 1984-1993. While he never played as a "Titan," Moon recognizes the Titans as the caretaker of the Houston Oilers' legacy.
Obviously, the only pushback to the Titans' use of the Houston-based jerseys comes from Houston natives who believe they should have claim to the Oilers' history. Seeing one of the franchises' most legendary players support the Titans' use of the jerseys should end much of that debate.
In the humble opinion of this writer, Moon is correct in calling this kit the best looking in all of football. The red pops off of the hypnotizing light blue. Both colors wrestling back and forth for your attention in some sort of beautiful dance.
The Titans' current stars know exactly how to accessorize the jerseys with modern equipment to enhance the look even further. Whether it be Derrick Henry's red sleeves or Kevin Byard's red gloves, diving even further into the best color combination in the league is intoxicating.
Moon isn't the only person excited to see these uniforms on the field this season. The only downside to this situation is that the Titans will only wear the uniforms twice all season. Both appearances of the jerseys are expected to be at home games as well.
Regardless of the fact that our exposure to these awesome outfits will be limited, it will still be quite the sight when they do throw them on. When they do, certainly it will spark a touch of the same debate over ownership of the Oilers' history, but we can always point back to one of the team's greatest players to end it again. All it took was a simple, "Go Titans."
