NASHVILLE — The New England Patriots were forced to end their preseason game against the Green Bay Packers early Saturday night after rookie cornerback Isaiah Bolden needed to be rushed to the hospital after a hit.

That's changed their schedule for this week — and it affects the Tennessee Titans.

The Patriots were supposed to travel from Green Bay to Nashville on Sunday and then practice on Tuesday and Wednesday with the Titans ahead of their Friday night preseason game at Nissan Stadium.

Instead, the Patriots decided to fly straight home to Massachusetts on Sunday morning and cancelled the joint workouts with the Titans. Now they will fly in Thursday and play the game Friday night. It's the final preseason game for both teams.

According to a release from the team, Bolden is OK and has been released from the hospital. He flew home with the team on Sunday morning.

Bolden is a seventh-round draft pick who played for Deion Sanders at Jackson State, and was the only HBCU player picked in the 2023 NFL Draft.

He was injured after he collided head-on collision with teammate Calvin Munson during the fourth quarter. He fell to the ground, according to reports, and lay motionless, seemingly unconscious until team medical personnel quickly arrived.

He was placed on a stretcher and rushed to a nearby Green Bay hospital. Both coaches conferred with officials and agreed it was best to not finish the game. New England was leading 21-17 at the time.

It was eerily reminiscent of the Damar Hamlin situation with the Buffalo Bills during a game last year with the Cincinnati Bengals, though — thankfully — not as bad.

“It brought out that Damar feeling, and that’s just scary,” Patriots receiver Kendrick Bourne said after the game. “That’s how it feels. It’s just praying for him that he’s okay. They said he was moving, he was responding pretty well. Kind of hurt his neck a little bit. Looked like it was head to head. You just never know in those moments.”
