Report: Mike Vrabel Has Coaching Interviews With Two NFC South Teams

Former Titans coach Mike Vrabel is interviewing in person Wednesday for the Atlanta Falcons coaching opening. Vrabel will meet with Carolina Panthers brass on Thursday to discuss their vacancy.

NASHVILLE— Former Titans coach Mike Vrabel will have meetings with the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers leadership this week, according to multiple reports.

Five NFL teams, including the Panthers and Falcons, are currently searching for a new coach for their respective teams. The other teams with coaching vacancies are the Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, and Seattle Seahawks. Vrabel has already interviewed for the Chargers job. According to ESPN, there are also reports that the Seahawks have expressed interest in Vrabel interviewing for the position.

On Wednesday, Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk announced that Brian Callahan will replace Vrabel as the team's head coach. Vrabel's previous team, the New England Patriots, hired Jerod Mayo, while Antonio Pierce was appointed as the full-time coach for the Las Vegas Raiders after previously serving as their interim coach. Pierce was also among the candidates who were interviewed for the Titans head coach position.

Vrabel had a 54-45 record in six seasons as the Titans coach. He won the 2021 NFL Coach of The Year Award and led the Titans to the AFC Championship game during his second season in 2019.

The Titans parted ways with Vrabel after two consecutive losing seasons, including this season's 6-11 record.
