NASHVILLE — The DeAndre Hopkins sweepstakes is in full swing and right now the battle is between the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots. As we know, the Titans completed their visit with Hopkins earlier this week, but Hopkins also had a visit with the Patriots in recent days.

According to a new report from Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the Titans stayed in communication with Hopkins even during his visit with New England. As the saying goes, out of sight, out of mind and clearly the Titans didn't want to be either of those as Hopkins was being pursued by another suitor.

Breer went on a local radio show in Boston called Toucher and Rich and gave some updates on the Hopkins situation.

The first note from Breer is key here when it comes to who Hopkins ultimately chooses as his team. If Hopkins and Patriots coach Bill Belichick get on the same page, Hopkins could go to New England.

However, the part we need to focus on is the second anecdote. Breer mentions that the Titans' visit went really well and that the Titans were in communication with Hopkins during his visit in Massachusetts.

Two things could be happening here. One, the Titans are trying to get information about the Patriots' offer with the idea that they will match or beat whatever is being offered. Two, the Titans could simply be trying to stay on Hopkins' mind. Again, out of sight, out of mind. It would be like texting your crush while you know she is on a date with a different person.

Regardless of the motive, the Titans are clearly all in on Hopkins. They are invested in the Hopkins chase. Even if they have to intrude on another team's visit, they are willing to do so to keep the Titans in the forefront of Hopkins' mind.

Will it work? That remains to be seen.
