The Tennessee Titans are one of the first teams mentioned when people discuss who might trade up for a quarterback in next week's NFL draft. The Titans have an aging, expensive Ryan Tannehill and could look to make a move for their quarterback of the future. However, according to Dianna Russini of ESPN, the Titans are not "absolutely in love" with any of the quarterbacks available.

Russini went on "The Buck Reising Show" on Nashville radio station 104.5 The Zone and spoke about the Titans feelings on the quarterback class.

Russini is known to have good connections with the Titans organization so this comment is nothing to bat an eye at. Despite all the speculation, if the Titans truly don't love any of the passers available then they would be smart not to select one. Forcing a pick for need is never the right move and even less of a smart move for the Titans who may not be thrilled with Ryan Tannehill, but can't consider the quarterback room a disaster.

On the other hand, there could be another reason this information was put out. It is lying season in the NFL and there is a chance Russini was told this and allowed to say it publicly because the Titans want to throw people off their scent. A smoke screen could be in play. It isn't unheard of that reporters say things publicly on behalf of a team and in return will be fed information in the future. Quite frankly, that's how the business goes.

There are two paths available. You can choose to believe what Russini said at face value, which is logical. You can choose to think it is a smoke screen from the team to try and deceive their opponents. You may not be crazy whichever side you land on. All we can know for certain is this is a dangerous time in the NFL news cycle and you can't believe everything you see or hear.
