NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans are reportedly preparing to sign running back Tony Pollard in free agency, according to multiple reports.

Pollard, a Memphis native who is 26 years old, is coming off consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons with the Cowboys. Pollard also has 300-plus yards as a receiver each of his past three seasons.

Aaron Wilson was the first to report the move. ESPN's Adam Schefter the first to have the contract details. According to Schefter, the Titans will pay Pollard $24 million over three years.

Signing Pollard likely means certain goodbye for Titans great Derrick Henry. During eight seasons, Henry amassed 9,502 rushing yards — second all-time for the franchise — and numerous highlight-reel stiff-arms.

Henry is the active rushing yards leader in the NFL. He also has scored 90 career touchdowns, which tie him for 13th all-time with Hall of Fame running backs Curtis Martin and Eric Dickerson.

The Titans started free agency with over $70 million in cap space with needs at several positions, including wide receiver, offensive line, and defensive backs. While running back wasn't the highest priority, they needed an accompaniment to Tyjae Spears if Henry was going to leave.
