Tennessee Titans Select Top-Tier OT in Sports Illustrated 2024 NFL Mock Draft
The Tennessee Titans are in desperate need of more talent on this roster. Whether it be top-end talent or simply depth, the Titans could use it. Especially on the offensive line, which is why with the Titans out of playoff contention, many have turned their attention to the upcoming NFL draft, where that needed talent may be found.
If you're someone who has shifted their focus, you will be very pleased to see that in this latest mock draft from Sports Illustrated's Luke Easterling, the Titans added offensive tackle Joe Alt out of Notre Dame. A popular choice amongst the fan base to this point.

The Titans currently have the seventh pick in the draft order. A dangerous position to be if the Titans want to be certain they get one of the top offensive tackles that they desperately need, but if the Titans lose out, they are certain that seventh is as low as they would pick and how this mock draft played out seems very realistic.
Three quarterbacks go in the top four pick with Cardinals drafting receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. with the only non-quarterback pick. The Giants then take the first offensive tackle in Penn State's Olu Fashanu at five.
This is where things get scary. It is likely, regardless of the team's selecting, that three quarterbacks and Harrison Jr. go in the top four. That leaves two picks before the Titans and both tackles remaining. Will one of the teams, Giants or Chargers or whoever sit in those two spots by draft time, pass on a tackle leaving one for the Titans?
The Giants have draft offensive tackle in the top ten in two of the past three drafts and the Chargers have drafted offensive line twice in the past three drafts as well. Maybe that gives the Titans a better chance, as it did in this draft when the Chargers selected tight end Brock Bowers, leaving Alt for the Titans.
This would truly be a magical occurrence for the Titans as it potentially solves the biggest roster issue they have had for three seasons — left tackle. Alt is considered a more sure-thing than Fashanu, though with less athletic upside, but the Titans need a sure-thing right now. Plugging in Alt, next to Peter Skoronski, could solve the Titans left side for a decade.
Alt is 6-foot-8, 315 pounds with all the prototypical size and experience you could dream for. Alt comes with family pedigree as his father was a former pro-bowler in the NFL and a former first-round pick as well. Alt checks every box you could possibly have for an offensive lineman.
Now it is up to the Titans to give themselves the best chance possibly to get Alt, by being smart with the health of their banged-up players and by simply being the team they have been all season long.
