NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Titans announced on Thursday afternoon that they have signed three of the six members of their 2023 draft class.

Those players include fifth-round pick tight end Josh Whyle, sixth-round  offensive lineman Jaelyn Duncan, and seventh-round receiver Colton Down

Whyle, a Cincinnati, Ohio, native, was selected with the team’s fifth-round pick (147th overall). He appeared in 48 games over four seasons at Cincinnati and totaled 88 receptions for 1,062 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a senior in 2022, the 6-foot-7-inch, 248-pounder collected All-AAC first-team honors after posting a career-best 32 catches for 326 yards with three touchdowns. Whyle holds the Bearcats record for career touchdown receptions by a tight end with 15 scoring grabs, breaking former NFL tight end Brett Celek’s mark.

Duncan, the Titans’ sixth-round selection (186th overall), appeared in 42 games with 39 starts in four seasons at Maryland. The New Carrollton, Md., native was a three-time All-Big Ten honorable mention selection. He started all 12 games at left tackle for the Terrapins last season and blocked for a Maryland passing offense that ranked third in the Big Ten in 2022 by averaging 259.8 yards per game. As a junior in 2021, Duncan appeared in all 13 games with 11 starts at left tackle and blocked for a record-setting pass offense, which set a single-season program record with 3,960 passing yards.

Dowell, a Lebanon, Tenn., native, was selected with the team’s seventh-round pick (228th overall). The 6-foot-3-inch, 212-pound wide receiver appeared in 47 games over five seasons at the University of Tennessee-Martin and totaled 177 receptions for 2,796 yards with 19 touchdowns. As a fifth-year senior in 2022, he was selected to the All-OVC first team after posting 67 catches for 1,036 yards with six touchdowns. Dowell starred at Wilson Central High School and helped guide the Wildcats to an 8-3 record and a playoff berth as a senior in 2016.
