If You Care About Draft Position, Week 7 was a Big Win for Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans sit at 2-4 coming out of their bye week and there is real potential for the season to go off the rails in the coming weeks with Ryan Tannehill injured and a young quarterback set to take the reigns.
With that reality, some have already begun looking ahead to what the Titans' draft position could look like. This roster needs not only depth, but high-end talent if they want to get back to their winning ways, putting a premium on how high of a pick the Titans get. Especially, if losing and mediocrity needs to be suffered through to get it.
If you happen to be one of those people, Week 7 was a series of great events. Some of the teams that are similarly at the bottom of the standings did the Titans a favor and got victories. This helps the Titans with the proverbial "tank" you could say.
Going into Week 7, there were six teams with less than two wins. Leaving Week 7, there are only two, the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals. All of the teams that won to gain their second victory of the year did so at home.
The New England Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills, the New York Giants beat the Washington Commanders, the Denver Broncos beat the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears beat the Las Vegas Raiders.
A common trait of bad teams is the inability to win on the road. The few wins they get, typically come with home field advantage. Coincidentally, both the Titans wins have come at home as well
While it is very early on in the season and things will change, it is something to keep an eye on if you do happen to be someone looking forward to the future. The results from Week 7 are very helpful to that Titans future.
Now the question becomes, what will the Titans do for their draft spot with an injured quarterback and a tough stretch of games ahead? Ultimately, the Titans' own results will be far more important to watch than anyone else's.
