Titans Rank Last In Mike Clay's Wide Receiver Rundown

It's not a surprise that the Tennessee Titans currently rank dead last regarding their current wide receiver roster.

NASHVILLE  - When it comes to the current state of the wide receiver position for the Tennessee Titans, there seems little to brag about. In fact, for most fans, and media alike, it remains the team's biggest weakness, with little prospect of improving before the start of the season.

Just how bad is it for the Titans right now?

ESPN NFL prognosticator Mike Clay recently released his ranking of all 32 NFL wide receiver units, and to the surprise of almost no one, the Titans fall solidly into last place.

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel referred to possibly adding more players to the roster to potentially upgrade the issue of the receivers during the draft's closing press conference.

"No, free agency is not. They're going to let us sign free agents Monday. They will. Chad will. Ran will. They will let us sign free agents on Monday. Free agency will go all the way up until the season starts. There will be players that are on other teams that will become available Monday," said Vrabel post-draft. "Take a look. It will be a real large waiver wire. We'll scour that. We'll continue to look for trade possibilities and opportunities. Chad and Vin (Marino) will help us with the salary cap and find ways to open up salaries so that we can potentially sign other players. There's been a pretty good process here, and I'm excited about it."

Those Monday cuts Vrabel spoke about never materialized.

While some potential upgrades could hit the open market during training camp cuts, the Titans will continue forward with a receiver roster that is the worst in the league.
