Tennessee Titans Kicker Nick Folk Awarded AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
The Tennessee Titans used a seventh-round pick in 2025 to trade for veteran kicker Nick Folk and that move is already paying dividends. Folks has been perfect so far this season making all 10 of his possible kicks. The most recent being the game-winner in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Folk's 41-yarder in overtime sealed the win for the Titans, but he also hit a 33-yarder right before halftime that allowed the Titans to score before and after the break, adding a touchdown to start the third and retaking the lead after being down 11-0 early. Folk was also perfect on his trio of extra point tries.
With his performance Folk was awarded AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. The veteran kicker has now won this a weekly conference special teams award 10 times and done it with four different teams including the New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots along with the Titans now.
Folk has played in 16 NFL seasons now and kicked in 213 games. One of the attractions to an experienced player like Folk for the Titans is that he has seen it all. It may have taken a while, but the Titans are glad to have Folk now.
While former kicker Randy Bulluck had some positive moments, the Titans' kicking situation since Ryan Succop left has been disjointed. Folk has shown reliable so far and the question is whether he can continue that and give this team something they haven't had in a while — stability.
Comically enough though, Folk won this award while making only two field goals in Week 2 after scoring all of the team's point with five field goals. Let's just say they were awarded Folk for his start so far and call it a day.
