Titans Projected to Land Intriguing Offensive Playmaker
The 2024 NFL season is about to kick off next week and the Tennessee Titans are going to be an interesting team to keep an eye on.
Looking at the talent on the roster, there is no reason why the Titans shouldn't be a potential contender. However, they have not been viewed that way by most of the national media.
Will Levis leads an offensive group loaded with talent and playmaking ability. He has Calvin Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins, and Tyler Boyd at the wide receiver position. Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears are heading up the running back room.
Defensively, the team looks to be vastly improved from last season as well. The key trade to acquire star cornerback L'Jarius Sneed improved one of the main holes that the defense had to fix.
All of that being said, Tennessee looks like a team that should win some football games.
Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano recently relesed a new mock draft for the top 10 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. His mock draft has the Titans picking at No. 7 overall, which would insinuate a rough 2024 season.
While fans won't love seeing a No. 7 pick prediction, they will like the player Tennessee is projected to get if they do end up with that high of a selection.
Manzano has the Titans adding Missouri Tigers' standout wide receiver Luther Burden III.
"Luther’s game-changing speed would fit well with the Titans’ receiving corps, which is heavy on size with Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins. Treylon Burks was supposed to be the team’s yards-after-catch playmaker, but he has struggled to adjust in the NFL after becoming a 2022 first-round pick. The jury is still out on Will Levis as a franchise quarterback, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him take steps forward in coach Brian Callahan’s offense to possibly gain more weapons, such as Luther, in the ’25 offseason. "
During the 2023 college football season at Missouri, Burden ended up catching 86 passes for 1,212 yards and nine touchdowns. Those numbers show a bit of the playmaking potential that he would bring to the team.
Hopefully, we aren't talking about Tennessee picking that high in the 2025 draft. However, if they are, Burden would be an excellent addition for the offense.
He would also give Levis a potential No. 1 option to grow and develop with for the foreseeable future.
